Change the grade basis of a class

Note: due to COVID-19, students have been provided more flexibility in selecting the S/N grade basis for their spring 2020 classes. Undergraduate students may choose A-F grading or the S/N option for an unlimited number of spring 2020 and B-term courses. Courses taken as S/N during this period will be accepted for major and minor requirements. This option varies by program for graduate and professional coursework. See the Spring 2020 S/N FAQ for more information.

To view the grade basis for your classes, navigate to the current term on the Grades tab in MyU: Academics. You can make changes to the grade basis that you selected for a course through the second week of classes for a regular term course. Talk with your advisor before changing your grade basis. Not all classes are offered with multiple grading options. Some examples of different grading options are A-F, S/N (pass/fail), or Audit.
