Guidelines for professional conduct with our offices

In Academic Support Resources (ASR), we strive to create a positive and supportive experience for every member of the University community. Effective communication is essential to solving conflict and maintaining positive partnerships throughout the University system.  By working together with mutual respect, we can ensure that every interaction is productive and focused on finding solutions.

Our Commitment

Our staff are committed to:

  • Providing accurate, timely, and professional assistance
  • Listening carefully and responding with respect and empathy
  • Treating everyone equitably and courteously
  • Maintaining a welcoming environment for all

Your Partnership

We ask that students, families, faculty, staff, and other University community members:

  • Respectfully communicate and interact with staff
  • Use courteous language and maintain a calm tone
  • Be patient when staff need time to research or review information
  • Refrain from aggressive, abusive, or threatening behavior or language
  • Follow University policies and procedures

Maintaining a Supportive Environment

ASR values open dialogue. When these guidelines are not observed, we reserve the right to immediately end an interaction. If an interaction has ended, we will define next steps in writing. Future communications may be handled via specific channels to align with guidelines again.
