Application for Advanced Doctoral Status

This form allows doctoral degree students who meet advanced status requirements to enroll in a specific one-credit registration course that certifies students as full-time.

Use this form if...

  • All Degree Program coursework is complete and grades are posted to the transcript.
  • You have successfully completed the preliminary written and oral examinations.
  • You have completed the 24 semester credits of xxxx 8888 (doctoral thesis credits).
     

Don't use this form if...

  • You are not a doctoral student.
  • You have not completed the necessary requirements for advanced doctoral status. 
     

Next steps

This application is submitted directly to the student’s department for approval by the Director of Graduate Studies (DGS). This form must be completed each term the student wishes to register for the full-time equivalent (FTE) benefit. The student’s academic advisor must review each term's request to determine satisfactory academic progress. This form is kept on file in the respective department’s office.
