American Indian Scholars Program Application

This is an application form for the American Indian Scholars Program, which covers tuition and certain fees for eligible Minnesota American Indian students pursuing an undergraduate education.

You are required to upload a copy of your official Tribal Nation membership/citizenship documentation for review in order to complete this form.

Use this form if...

  • You are a Minnesota resident who qualifies for resident tuition, and you are an enrolled member or citizen of a federally recognized American Indian Tribe or Canadian First Nation.
    • If you do not qualify for resident tuition, you are still eligible for the program if you are an enrolled member or citizen of a Minnesota Tribal Nation.
  • You are pursuing your first degree and enrolled in an undergraduate degree program.
  • You have fewer than 180 attempted credits at the college-level. This includes credits attempted at other institutions. Enrollment history will be verified prior to funds disbursing.

Don't use this form if...

  • You already have a bachelor’s degree.
  • You are not an enrolled member or citizen of a federally recognized American Indian Tribe, Canadian First Nation, or Minnesota Tribal Nation.
  • You are a direct descendant.
