Change your college

To transfer from one college to another within the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, please complete the following steps.

  1. Meet with your current academic adviser to discuss your plan.
  2. Investigate College or department transfer requirements
  3. Make sure you meet the college deadlines for applying.
  4. The following programs require you to submit supplemental application materials:
  5. Complete the Application for Undergraduate Change of College. Please note: if you choose to apply to more than one college, you will need to submit a separate application for each. If you are accepted to both colleges, you will be contacted in order to confirm that you are admitted to your first choice college.
  6. After you have submitted your application, you will receive an email notification. You will be notified of your decision approximately 4-6 weeks after the application deadline.

If you wish to withdraw your application at any time, you must notify the Office of the Registrar or you will not be able to continue in your current college.

Priority deadlines: Colleges with priority deadlines will give full consideration to all applications received and completed by that date. Applications received or completed after the priority deadline will be reviewed on a space-available basis.

Change of campus

To transfer from one campus to another within the University of Minnesota, you must meet the admissions requirements of the campus you wish to attend. There may be specific requirements for particular majors within each college.
