Activities

  • 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. A Veterans Resource Fair will highlight services available for student veterans.
  • 11:00 a.m. Lunch open to the public.
  • 12:00 p.m. Program begins.

The program will include the ROTC Joint Services Color Guard, Northrop Brass Quintet, and veteran speakers who have served in conflicts throughout history.

Throughout the day, pre-recorded messages or "shout-outs" from service members stationed in Iraq to veterans or families attending the University will be shown, and a memorabilia display courtesy of the Minnesota History Center will share artifacts from several conflicts. The day will also feature "Warrior to Citizen: Stories of Minnesota's Most Recent Veterans," a multimedia exhibit that shares personal stories and artifacts gathered from 30 service members who served in Iraq and Afghanistan. We will have free t-shirts for our student veterans. Free coffee, juice and donuts will be available in the morning, sandwiches at lunch and cookies in the afternoon.

Who should attend?

All veterans and their family members, University faculty, staff, students, and the public are invited to the day-long event. Please mark your calendars for this event to support student veterans and learn more about their experiences.
