Student Financial Collections
Student Financial Collections (SFC) is the University of Minnesota's service
office for financial collections and loan repayment.
Past-due student accounts
SFC is responsible for collecting all past due student account balances. SFC staff will help you take care
of tuition and fees, housing costs, or other overdue financial obligations to
the University. They can assist you in setting up payment plans, referrals
to offices for disputes and appeals, and finding answers to your questions about
billing.
Options for payment once your account is past due and a hold
has been placed on your record.
Loan repayment
SFC is responsible for billing and collecting all University and some federal loan payments from students who received loans from the following programs while
attending the Twin Cities, Morris, and Crookston campuses:
Exit interviews are required for all loans received while attending the Twin Cities campus.
SFC does NOT handle billing, collection, or exit interviews
for Ford Federal Direct Loans (subsidized, unsubsidized, parent or graduate/professional
PLUS loans).
