Horatio Alger Association Scholarship

The Horatio Alger Association seeks to assist students who have demonstrated integrity, perseverance in overcoming adversity, strength of character, financial need, a good academic record, commitment to pursue a college education, and a desire to contribute to society. The University of Minnesota is a participant in the Horatio Alger Association Collegiate Partners Program.

A successful candidate must:

be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident residing in the U.S.
be a full-time high school senior who is a spring/summer 2008 graduate planning to enter college in the fall 2008
pursue a bachelors degree at an accredited institution
demonstrate critical financial need
be involved in co-curricular and community service activities
have a minimum 2.0 GPA

To apply:

submit an online application at horatioalger.org/scholarships.
submit one letter of support from an adult who understands your adversity and can describe the unique circumstances of your life.
download and complete the certifications page, obtaining the proper signatures prior to mailing.
submit a photo copy of the front page of your parent/guardian�s 2006 federal tax return
