Freshmen scholarships

You are considered for most University of Minnesota academic scholarships when you apply for admission. All recipients must be U. S. citizens or permanent residents. Priority consideration is given to students who submit the admission application by the December 15 priority application deadline. Those who apply after that date will be considered on a funds-available basis.

The Office of Admissions also awards numerous academic scholarships to new entering freshmen each fall. Academic scholarships awarded by University colleges are typically awarded to students who have been admitted to an honors program. To be considered for fall 2008 freshmen scholarships you should submit the 2008-2009 Scholarship and Honors Programs Application for Freshmen by January 15, 2008. Scholarship decisions are based on an overall assessment of the scholarship and admission applications.
