Accessing your financial aid online

Financial Aid Status is the University's tool for checking your financial aid status, responding to your aid awards, or viewing a summary of the award amounts accepted by you and paid to your student account. If a financial aid hold exists on your record, it will be displayed. If you're ready with your University Internet identification (X.500 username) and password, go to Financial Aid Status.

Financial Aid Status is organized into 6 easy steps to guide you through the financial aid process. Learn more at Financial aid basics.

First-time users

Upon entering Financial Aid Status, the University's Internet login screen to a secured database will appear. Enter your University of Minnesota Internet ID (email username) and password. This ensures that you are the only person, in addition to authorized University personnel, who have access to your information online.

If this is your first time using your Internet account, you will be prompted to initiate your account. Otherwise, enter the requested information and click "login." If you need assistance, use the University's technology helpline.

After you enter your University Internet identification and password, you will see the status of your financial aid application. When you have awards to which you must respond, your electronic Financial Aid Award Notice (eFAAN) will appear in Step 4.

Authorizing a parent or guest to view your financial aid status

Your permission is required for a parent or guest to view any details in your student record, including your financial aid status.
